Voi-la!! Paris "Gate" weekend

PARIS Saturday 13JAN07
LONDON, Borough, “Splendid” Residence, 5am: alarm goes off to wake up 4 bleary-eyed girls to get ready for a weekend trip to Paris via the Eurostar.

After breakfast, juggling the bathroom shifts, and preparing a hamper to take with us on the train, ensuring cereals are packed for breakfast the next day...the first to exit:
Little Miss (Porn) Star...........then
Little Miss Tiny (Bear with a nice ass)
Little Miss Rayshalist (with a Southern-Cross Ass)
Little Miss Splendid (Ass)

Ok, enough with the pathetic attempt at breaking News format.

Basically, we got to Waterloo on time and boarded our Eurostar train ETD 6.34am. The early start of course resulted in power-naps on the train...

Once at Gare du Nord, we had to take a couple of Metro lines to get to our destination. Obtaining the tickets was an experience and a half. Four english speaking girls trying to work out the French ticket machine resulted in many buttons being pressed, lots of Euro coins being fumbled and fits of giggles from all of us in front of a rapidly lengthening queue. Thank goodness for Little Miss Tiny who has a fetish for “French” and managed to get the right amount of tickets for the weekend.

Once we got to our hostel and dealt with the neurotic front desk manager (who had serious issues with anyone who got close to the DVD player), we dropped off our bags and took a leisurely afternoon stroll past some old, some quaint, some interesting stores, and eventually crossed the river to make our way to Notre Dame Cathederal.

By this time, lunch was beckoning...
...and once re-energised, we made our way around the Cathederal

to find the real "hunchback of Notre Dame"...

...us wee tourists couldn't avoid being accosted by other tourists (!)..
but eventually made our way to visit inside the Cathederal
.

Moving along, we stopped to explore the surrounds...

...and made our way to see some museums
Musee Carnavalet
Musee Congnacq

..and I went solo to the Picasso Musee

Got back to the hostel to find most of the Little Missies having a disco nap.

The room was cosy enough, with the "neurotic front desk manager" allocating a x2 double bedded room for 4 people (!), no heating, no insulation, seperate shower and toilet room, with the latter having a disfunctional door and was so close to the beds that we resorted to singing whenever it was occupied - just so we could give one's privacy. It didn't help that we smelt sewerage whenever we flushed the toilet.

I don't think the "neurotic front desk manager" liked us very much, as he didn't provide us with a "DVD player".

The night progressed and we went out to enjoy a lovely meal

and explored the city at night in the Latin Quarter, meeting some lovely locals.

The next day was a late rise, which meant we had to rush and get ready to checkout, which meant that we couldn't eat the cereal be packed from home :-(

We still had a couple more hours to kill before heading back to London, so we decided to go to Sacre Coer for some breakfast - banana and chocolate crepes in mind, and also get a great view of Paris.

Little did we know that we would be earning our way to breakfast, as Little Miss Tiny decided to be helpful and take us on the most steepest, direct route up the hill!!

Though it was rewarding to reach the top. We find a cool (yet expensive) cafe to have our breakfast opposite an artists market

....and where I finally got to eat my cereal worth about 40p, with a lovely splash of cold, creamy, glass of French lickable milk worth EUR4.60 !!!!!!!@?#%!!!

Overall, a brilliant weekend. Way too short but eternally sweet
